I loved the 1954 version with Charles Laughton, John Mills and Brenda DeBanzie. I have seen this version from 1984 with Jack Warden, Richard Thomas, Sharon Gless and Lillian Gish at least 5 times already. Although I think Jack Warden does just a 'fair' job and Henry Hobson, I liked the portrayal of Will Mossop and Maggie Hobson. They are sensitive, strong and funny. It is a feel good film. This version is now added to my favorites list.
