Works extremely well, a very good switch

These switches get my vote because when a very old switch in some equipment failed I first bought a pack of unbranded switches and thought they would be fine as the application is not demanding. I was wrong, one by one the unbranded ones failed within hours of installation and even when they worked at all they were a terrible contact. So I went back to basics did my research on the data sheets and came up with these RI-03A Comus branded switches. It is like chalk and cheese, these work perfectly first time no contact problem, no bounce problems, all great. So I thoroughly recommend these switches.

Unreliable, poor quality

Four out of five of these have failed within hours of installation. They were installed extremely carefully but all failed after 4 to 24 hours. They seem unable to cope with stress of being very carefully soldered onto a board. When they fail they become either open circuit or high resistance (50-300 ohms). A different brand switch with similar spec works perfectly. I cannot recommend these for anything.

Makes USB to RS485 easy

Great product, makes it easy to add RS485 to your system. The standard (old) A type connector may seem old fissioned to some but it makes this adapter really robust. It works really well and has full auto direction control & a 120 ohm terminator on-board so there is no need to add one at that end of the cable. Unusually for RS485 USB adapters, it is possible to pick off the TTL RX, TX & 5v lines too in case you have a need for that. Overall I highly recommend these for a wide range of RS485 applications.
