Not a match for 85 hp Johnson
Absolutely nothing in this kit matched my 85 hp Johnson outboard. Everything in the auction suggested that it was for my motor. The water pump outlet, the base plate, the mounting slot for the impeller, the gaskets, etc. were all different. The shaft size and the base plate shape (mine had a bypass hole so I could have drilled a few holes to use it) are the same. Other than that it was a complete waste of money!

Branick 580A
In it's time this was a good unit. Unfortunately Branick updated the design 30+ years ago and will no longer provide parts and went so far as to tell me that this unit was not designed for "modern" struts. If the top plates or other moving pieces need to be replaced you will need to fabricate them. Branick is not willing to provide measurements based on liability.

Works great.
I didn't expect this to work so well. First nice day and the tray is nearly full of mosquitos and other small bugs.
