The SmallRig cold shoe is built like a tank, and thicker than most, but note that this also makes it incompatible with items that might have been designed for thinner tolerances. One of my optical viewfinders didn’t fit because the barrel was designed to fit extremely snugly over the “lip” of the shoe.
