Superb Australian Film

I put in 5 stars because that is what I think! It is an early Australian film that deserves more credit than it ever got.

International Political Brinkmanship at nearly its best.

With a star line-up of movie heavy-weights like Yul Brynner, Henry Fonda. Lilly Palmer and Dirk Bogarde all in one movie, how could it not be good? Acting is so realistic that anyone who was around back then and remembers the political international scenery of the decade 1963 to 1973 can only realize now, how scary it really was and the subtle political implications this movies is trying to present. Because of this, the story line is now rather dated; nonetheless it is a gripping tale of international political intrigue, treachery, double-agents, spie-swaps and traitors (however guided or misguided they were at the time). As with all of these movies, the actual time-frame of the story is not fully explained, however, there is an extremely unexpected twist to the tale in the last quarter of viewing.
