Get it while available for the 5V submodel.
I have not personally used it yet. Received my Baofeng UV-5R as a gift, and it had been already been programmed in. I Bought this for any future need, while the cable was still available for this early version radio.

Replaces OEM
OEM had quit working years ago. No longer available NOS thru Chevy dealer. Glad This was available. Had it installed and checked. Working correctly.....temp and compass.

Quality Parchment
It is nice to have a paper certificate, vs just a FRN in the digital world. The FCC should have continued the paper system along with the digital database. Has a good grade of paper/parchment to it, and is not flimsy in feel.
It was rolled in a heavy mailing tube, with no damage in transport.
I will be looking at a HAM version certificate, when I pass that test.
