Time Flies: The Heathrow Story, Alan Gallop | Paperback Book | Good | 9780752465

    Well-written account of Heathrow Airport
Well-written account of Heathrow Airport from its first beginnings to (more or less) the present day.
Classic Albums: Steely Dan - Aja DVD (2016) Steely Dan ***NEW***

Great insight into an incredible band
Anyone who has half an idea who Steely Dan are needs to watch this video. It is about as near as you can get to an audience with Donald Fagen and Walter Becker (who sadly died earlier this year). As a musician this is pure gold and not to be taken lightly, and I can thoroughly recommend it.
Sentimental Journey - Ringo Starr (1995, CD New)

An album Ringo made for his mum
This was the first solo album released by Ringo Starr in March 1970. The choice of songs was representative of the type of songs he used to hear when he was a kid, so he figured that his mum would like it, although I have never heard whether or not she did. He asked many different people to do the arrangements for each song, such as George Martin, Richard Perry, Quincy Jones, Paul McCartney etc. Consequently the backings of each song are arguably better than the vocal performances, although of course this is very much up to each listener. It's really an album that you buy if you are 1) a die-hard Beatles fan who buys anything any of them put out or 2) always had a soft spot for Ringo. From a non-musicians perspective it is a pleasant easy-listening album. The pub on the cover is, by the way, The Empress, which was very close to the Dingle street he grew up in.
