Be aware...be very aware
2 of 3 found this helpful Although this saw is priced at the lower end of the market. I was expecting a lot more from a unit wearing the Makita logo.
The fence is very very flimsy and near impossible to get it set and hold square (90 degrees) without constant revision
Also, the measurements on the fence are not accurate and do not reflect the width of cut and distance between the blade as the fence must be checked with a ruler everytime to avoid tears
Similarly the slots for the mitre gauge are narrow and making a cross cut sled to fit was a mission.
But by far the units biggest hurdle is the 1 inch (25.4mm) arbour. Dado sets to fit this saw are as rare as unicorns and the price quotes is often more than the cost of the saw
My advice is to buy something with a 5/8 Arbour and better quality fence to save you the frustration.
Upon reflection I really regret buying this saw and it has made me think twice about new age Makita peoducts.
