  The awl arrived today and I put it right to work making holes for hinge screws on a box I am making for a friend. The awl at first appeared small but when in use it fit my hand perfectly and worked great. I cannot recommend this awl too highly. Very well made and I will definitely add this to the tool chest I take to the Maine Forest and Logging Museum where I demonstrate woodworking with hand tools. This tool will look right in my tool chest when showing 1790's woodworking skills.
