Powerful and used here with USA MTH 0 gauge locos
its the only 5amp controller I could find .
It would be handy if there was an on/off switch on the box as it is connected via an extension and it has to have its plug pulled after each session to avoid overheating or wear of the fan motor etc .

Wouldn't be without it on Dartmoor.
1 of 1 found this helpful I can recommend one of these to anyone who likes to walk off the beaten track and wishes for an occasional navigational aid but not a nanny. Personally I wouldn't be without it on Dartmoor as it will give me an OS grid reference instantly and tells me where I am in daylight or after dark and further decisions may be made by reference to a map. It will appeal to the person who likes to carry a compass and a map and to feel in control, not to those who want everything displayed on a small screen. It can also be programmed to 'go to' an OS grid reference and will point the way. It is rugged and battery life is good. If required there is also a 'breadcrumb' system which records a walk and waymarks , all of which may be stored if desired. To return, this can simply be followed back to the start point , without ever looking at a compass or a map.
On the debit side, the buttons and system seem rather stiff and hard work initially , but one gets used to it.
It should be noted that this model has been superseded but may be obtained second hand.
