What conditions are necessary for life to begin?
This presentation in general is about the philosophical differences between Darwinian evolution and creation. As the 'review title' indicates, this video does not claim to explain how life began; rather casting serious doubt about how life couldn't have started using "how do you answer this criticism" questions. Many well-educated people discuss philosophical questions about the origin of life in general, and the ability of that life to become more complex without any direction from outside. The filmmaker chose former Darwinian advocates to explain what changed their viewpoints and reject unguided evolution as an explanation for this mystery of life. The philosophical basis for the defense of intelligent design (I don't remember the Biblical creation story being mentioned anywhere in the film, and God is only mentioned in the interviews, not in the scripted portion) is "irreducible complexity". The concept is graphically illustrated in the film, then used to examine the unbelievable complexity of cell functions within living beings. The film alludes to an inescapable explanation that an outside intelligent designer must have been involved with life at the beginning and 'programmed' all living beings with the ability to repair themselves and reproduce without any significant loss of this 'programming'. History has thus far supported this position. This is not an 'Christian' film, certainly not 'evangelical'. That being said, it is not unbiased (no work on this subject is). If you're a creationist or Bible-believer, this will strengthen your position. If you're unfamiliar with the debate/differences, this film should be given a chance to present its case, and is as unbiased as a film as you will find on this subject. If you're a Darwinist, the arguments of the intelligent design community are here so you can learn them and address them on their merit. The concepts in this film should be considered on thier own merits rather than on the credentials of the people presenting them.

Old stock no better than battery it replaced
Battery looked new out of the package, but won't hold a charge any better than the 4-year-old original battery, 2 days of stand-by usage at most. Probably sat on a shelf all those years.

    Wonderful human interest story
A documentary of human drama played out during the ramp-up to WWII, this is a riveting tale of survival. The story of a Nazi good-will propoganda campaign after Kristalnacht (spelling?), the Kindertransport relocated Jewish Children to any country willing to accept them. England alone allowed these innocents access to her shores (shame on the USA and others.) The telling of families being separated, reconfigured with new additions, and sometimes reunited is heartwarming. Children coped with being separated from their parents, the orphanage and adoption process, adjusting to a new family situation (sometimes more than once), and the anxiety of what would happen to their parents. A couple of these children joined the military to fight Naziism, one young man was reunited with his parents after the war, one girl actually found work and arranged passage for her parents out of Nazi-occupied territory. Really worth watching, especially if you're a WWII history addict. A harbinger of things to come?
