Practical and easy to use
4 of 4 found this helpful I thought I was buying the Snowball microphone, and it turns out I instead got the Snowball iCE - the difference being the iCE doesn't have the ability to switch between cardioid and omni, instead being stuck on cardioid. The microphone is still very good quality and is very easy to set up. The downsides of this microphone are thay it is very top heavy and may topple backward if knocked; the tripod doesn't allow for the microphone to be adjusted quite as much as I would like, but still is fine; and the last issue is that if you intend to use it as your general all purpose microphone for gaming, skype, etc, it takes up some reasonable desk space and you'll want it somewhere directly in front of you for the best vocal pick up. I've found that when it is in a comfortable position behind my keyboard and between my screens, it is perfectly capable of picking up my voice from a distance of maybe 50cm, but I have to talk louder than I would like for it to pick up my voice at a decent level.
