Yes and no
Ok so the no- no it is not faster transferring files bia directly connected to hard drive's wifi
The Yes - however streaming a movie via the hard drive's wifi is pretty dang smooth.
So plug un isb 3.0 cable and transfer your files use the wifi to stream movie from hard drive to laptop or ipad
