Yongnuo YN-560 IV Flash Speedlite Master & Built-in Trigger System & Slave Flash

Poor manufacturing

First let me say that these flashes do perform as advertised. I gave them 2 stars for that reason. The built in Trigger and Receiving system is terrific. It saves having one more piece of gear to buy and keep track of, namely the receiver. If these flashes were well made, I'd probably be giving them 5 stars. But they fall apart in relatively short periods with moderate to heavy use. I am an active part time photographer so these flashes are getting used 2 to 3 times a week. To be sure I have at least 2 functioning flashes, I have to bring 4 or 5 flashes with me to a shoot. We have had just about everything go wrong with these. The red glass cover for the infrared just fell off of one. Three flashes had the base just fall off when picking them up. One stopped working after it was dropped. So they are far cheaper than Canon or Nikon flashes. You can buy 4 or 5 of them for the price of a Nikon flash. But there's not real advantage because it turns out you actually have to buy that many to be sure you have one that works :( I do not plan to buy anymore of these. I'll be trying some other brands and hope for better durability.

Worthless

The battery is nearly worthless. Within 2 or 3 minutes of being on a call it starts beeping indicating that the battery is low. A few minutes after that the battery quits and the headset turns off.

Does the job

Mostly does what I expected. The velcro attachment design is better than most but less than ideal, otherwise I might give this a 5 star rating. Construction is decent but wouldn't expect it to last more than a couple of years before vinyl starts peeling.
