The humor of life in the military.
It is produced by the SHOUT Factory which by experience the Shout products are are top quality. I enjoyed this show as a kid in the early 60's and after more than 20 years in the military I appreciate the humor and situations even more now. Also I always enjoyed the humor of Phil Silvers.

To quote Monty Python "And, now for something completely different"
It is set in 11th century Britain which was still facing threats from the Vikings to the north and from the Normans to the south where Norman King William would soon defeat King Harold at the Battle of Hastings in 1066.Britain was still very much Catholic as is Cadfael's monastic order , and it would be 500 years before the new world is discovered, so it is not your usual time period to set a mystery series.
