STEP UP RING 67MM TO 72MM (67MM/72MM) / NEW RING
    11 June 2020
    Nicely made step up ring...
Can't really say anything bad about this ring! Works well, threads easily and positively on both the male and female sides, is quite thin overall, and has a nice outer color and silver finish. Face it - it's a step up ring - what more do you want?
American Grotesque The Life and Art of William Mortensen by William Mortensen HB
    02 June 2021
Excellent biography of a Forgotten Master Photographer
This large format book has wonderful photos by Mortensen, spanning his entire career. Note that some readers might be offended by his photographs, as there is "pinup"-style nudity in many of his images. One can readily see why Mortensen was both popular and reviled. The text is clear and well written and maintains the reader's interest. The chapters are written by different authors, each with a specialty with respect to a particular aspect of Mortensen's life or works. The last chapter covers his fall from grace, mostly at the hands of Ansel Adams and his f.64 compatriots. This is the first and only biography of Mortensen that I've read and I've gained a new appreciation for his times and his talents.
