Magical Butter machine is a set and forget process that is easy and straightforward. That's really what you're paying for. You don't have to wait around for water to reach a simmer, wait around to stir the pot, wait around 'in case anything happens', or wait around to remove pot from the stove to cool down. Magical Butter machine takes care of all that with a touch of a couple buttons.
When it beeps, it's done and ready to strain and put in the fridge. I still like to give the butter a couple of washes but the filter bag is very good - much better than cheesecloth. The glove helps too.
It has an 'easy clean' mode afterwards, but you'll still have to scrub the pot, and definitely soak the filter bag for 15 mins before cleaning (it helps a lot).
Another point to make is the minimum amount to make butter is 4 sticks. In the past I would use 2 sticks, so now I just make more at a time. Also be aware the water in the butter is removed in the process, so if you put in 4 sticks of butter expect to collect about 3 sticks of clarified butter when done.
