Great knife.
There must be a couple hundred thousand knife designs some of which are less than suitable for anything besides viewing. This knife is a beautiful well made very sharp useful and useable tool. Some folks are reluctant to buy Chinese; but I own many Chinese knives of excellent quality good for every day use. This is one such blade. In fact this is my second Elk River because of that. You won't be sorry owning this knife. Depending on what you intend to do with it this knife will give you good service.

Worth the money
2 of 2 found this helpful I received one of these a month and a half ago and am unable to find it; so I ordered another. Eventually the first one will turn up. Both knives exabit the same minor (in my opinion) imperfections that can be rectified by someone able to spend some time correcting. First it should be noted that this is a beautiful blade; and the price is right. So I will recommend it based on that alone. The design is great; but the sheath will not fit a larger belt due to the retaining strap being riveted through both sections of the hanger. The rivet should have gone through only one portion of the material. That is something I will correct. Next, the tang sticks up above the scales; and the rivets have some roughness. This is something else I will correct. Neither of these imperfections hinder gripping the knife. It's just something that needs correcting. I should also add that the first knife had the same problems; so it's safe to say it is a manufacturing problem on all these knives. Having said that, I would not default the knife because of the price that is very reasonable. These things would normally not be present in a higher dollar knife and sheath. If you don't mind these things and feel you are able to deal with it you will be happy to own this knife. I don't know what sort of steel is used; but the blade is sharp; and a few passes on a ceramic stick brings it up to par. I'm happy with the produce; and that's from someone who own over 200 edged toys of various value. Don't let this review keep you from buying this knife.
