Good but could be better
Works well on my Canon 200 mm f2.8 & 400 mm f5.6 lenses but only in manual focus mode. It doesn't work at all in C or S focus modes which is disappointing

Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1W Digital Camera
11 of 11 found this helpful Having read many reports on this camera I decided to purchase one for Digiscoping. I was attracted to the size, & quality of this camera & very interested in the lens which do not rotate when using the auto-focus on the camera. I had some doubts about the size of image that I would get when using my spotting scope eyepieces. This camers & lens set-up works very well with both the 30X & 45X fixed eyepieces. You must not try to use the higher end of the zoom range because vignetting occurs. Excellent battery life, & the use of a remote shutter release, make this a joy to use.
The bonus is when you use the 45-200 lens directly on the camera for taking pictures of birds in flight. It takes a little practise but good results can be achieved.
With the range of the two lenses this is an ideal set-up for taking portrait shots or landscapes.
All in all a very good camera package.

Not So Good
The center support is too week & the legs go unstable. The legs go out of alignment & can not be straightened. The overall design is good but the seat needs to be strengthened
