Murder, musicians, and magic realism
An identical twin assumes his brother’s identity to solve his brother’s murder. The murdered twin was a 90s rock musician and his brother, a whimsical shut-in who has created a fantasy land called Umbrage in tiny perfect miniature models with attendant mythology, plant-life and engineered moving parts, has to step out of his all-consuming intellectual world to join his brother’s much put-upon wife and small son in a quest for the truth about his brother’s death in a London landscape full of the jetsam of the 90s music scene.
