Bootable Mac Os Mojave on a 2008 Mac Pro PCIe Card
This is a special SSD that can be used in older Macs (aka 2008 Mac Pro) that does not easily recognize NVMe blades. For the specific purpose of using a bootable OS Mojave SSD in a 2.0 PCIe slot in a 2008 Mac Pro, the AHCI blade is the answer. I get around 750MBs read & write when using the AHCI SSD in the 2008 Mac Pro. While the read and write numbers are not astounding, they are the highest numbers you can get from an SSD in this Mac without using an expensive PCIe 3 Card that converts the PCIe 2 slot to PCIe 3 speeds. Unless your a Geek that's into older Mac Pros, you will not understand this. However, the AHCI blades makes this 11 year old Mac Pro run very nicely with the latest version of Mojave 10.14.6 on it.
