I recommend XBOX 360 over PS3, unless you need BluRay (which is overrated).
PROS: Nice looking system. A lot more quiet than previous generation. Built in wireless, lots of USB ports
CONS: Still gets pretty hot though. I would gladly pay a bit more for an aluminum enclosure. The plastic case does not displace heat well. Wireless controller does not come with a charger. Included batteries are not rechargeable. No HDMI cable included Only supports microsoft approved drives at 250GB MAX (did not take my 500GB).
OVERALL: Does gaming well. Don't worry about the $40 Silver membership. PS3 claims to be free, but you pay for premium game content that is already included in XBOX Gold Membership.
