Betty Crocker's Kitchen Gardens with illustrations by THE Tasha Tudor
From 1971, this book is an entertaining read, full of information on how to not only garden, but to love the simplicity and the meditative qualities of growing your own healthy food. The illustrations by Tasha Tudor are worth it if that's the only reason you get the book for, for the illustrations which would be great for artwork or framing. But it's also a wonderful intro to teaching your children how to feel successful in growing their own gardens and helping the family with their food supply. I can't recommend this book enough!

If only everyone were like Chelsea Clinton, the world would be a better place! She could have lived a privileged life without caring about others, but she was taught to think of other people and the world in general and she has worked to make the world a better place. I truly admire her!
Flo's Famous Hot Dog Relish

Always trust Samantha Brown!
I first heard of Flo's on Samantha Brown's Travel Channel TV show. I tried a jar and was very pleased with it. Being from Alabama, we are picky about our food and most food is rather bland if it's not homemade here, but this relish made my taste buds happy. Great on hot dogs (Nathan's or Boar's Head are my favs.) Can't afford it for every day use, but it was a delight to try it after Samantha Brown recommended it on her show. I think this is made in her home town. So that was cool. Very happy I got to try it! :)
