Light & Compact emergency fireplace
Using firewood in it was difficult as the heat couldn't be controlled and specific sizes of twigs and kindling was essential which wasn't always possible, so using this in the future will require measuring and packing kindling to take with us, which makes this difficult to use as an emergency cooking/heating tool. I haven't tried it with coal or hexamine tablets yet, but it's still good to have for times when I've run out of propane/butane etc..., the fireplace packs down into a small bag which is great for keeping the weight down and compact enough to pack it in anywhere. Using the correct firewood is trial and error to get it right (for me anyway) and I'd be happy to buy another one once I've worked out how to utilise it properly. One criticism is that the cooking grate that sits on top needs to be placed over the handles of the fireplace to keep it in place ( the product pics didn't show this) , otherwise it slips around and can't hold any weight without falling. The grate wire is also very thin and gets red hot when the amount of fuel needed for the fire is difficult to gauge. It's an essential addition to my emergency kit, and I'm glad I bought it as it's reassuring to know that it's there if I run out of the fuel sources I usually use.

So far it's been great, bought for Summe...
So far it's been great, bought for Summer and running constantly. Producing plenty of ice to keep our drink bottles icy, and it's awesome to be able to take a freezing cold drink to work and school that stays cold for hours.
