The Princes in the Tower: Solving History's Greatest Cold Case
    03 November 2024
    Don't waste money
Very tedious and full of information overload which is often repeated to get the author's opinion across. The poor construction of how she sets out her arguments just doesn't convince the reader to agree with her premise. Althrough I was disagreeing with her stated 'facts' which were really only her opinion. From the very beginning the author claims to be objective and aims to follow police cold case practice: "accept nothing, believe nobody, challenge everything" then does the exact opposite. I've never read a book about this subject that is so highly subjective. The author has written a massive work only to convince the reader she has solved one of history's great mysteries whereas by sheer volume, her evidence is miss-used. From its very sub-title and by the subjective description of every piece of 'evidence' the reader knows the conclusion. This is a work of someone who is a self-publicist of her own opinion and wants to convince everyone she is right. This is demonstrated by poorly constructed analysis of historic events with too much use of "this suggests" as definitive proofs.
