Hard-living, Old Delta Acoustic Blues
1 of 1 found this helpful These gritty old Mississippi Delta Blues may not be everyone's most preferred music, but they are no less true for all that. The mostly black farmhands sometimes considered going North to the stockyards and factories, hoping for a better life. These raw acoustic guitar blues came out of their musicians' hardscrabble lives- often shortened by violence and transient living. (Cold night, hard ground). Short-stay women, alcohol, poverty, discrimination, and sin were the fodder for these growling, often painful tunes. Much later these blues were often adapted by rock musicians. This substantial double CD is a gem collection of the original acoustic musicians and is recommended.

A Book That Is A Love Letter To Books
This beautifully written book is a love letter to literature, which will likely charm avid readers. The writing is descriptive and poetic. Barcelona is beautifully evoked; I felt the weather and geographic scenes. The boy who is the main character, is fleshed-out, whereas several of the other characters are less dimensional. Books are highlighted in this magical story. Recommended.
