To be carefully avoided.
One of the worst films I have ever seen. A Spaghetti Western with lots of blood and no plot. Two hours and forty minutes of worthless film making.

An Excellent Immigrant Story
1 of 1 found this helpful I loved this book. I had just finished reading The Godfather and was looking around for another book by Mario Puzo. Found The Fortunate Pilgrim in the library. This is not a Mafia book, but the story of an Italian family trying to survive on the West Side of Manhattan during the period 1920 - 1945. The characters are real, the situations heartbreaking, the action always believable. Puzo was trying to write literature at this point in his career, and with this book he succeeded.
Also, this book is autobiographical. It is about the time and place where the author grew up, and perhaps about his own family - only Puzo himself would have known. If you want to know what makes Mario Puzo tick, read this book.
