About us
I feel in love with comics after receiving 25 Marvel Comics for Christmas in 1986 (I found out later that they were from Sears of all places)! The assortment of titles covered two months of nearly the entire Marvel lineup of titles, and they all were amazing, but in the end, it was the mutant books that stole my 13 year old attention.
Marvel's gritty Mutant Massacre story was raw, and Clearmont's story was weaving its arc through the The Uncanny X-Men, X-Factor, New Mutants, Daredevil and Thor books as well as Power Pack. The way that the teams and characters interacted was amazing because they all had a purpose that advanced the story without any fluff. They were trying to stop the sadistic Marauders, who systematically massacred the Morlocks who lived in the sewer tunnels, Daredevil fought Sabertooth, and Thor helped X-Factor before respectfully cremating the countless dead Morlocks covering NYC's tunnels, so they wouldn't just be left to rot or eaten. Classic story!
