Worth It For The Title Song
A "very ahead of its time" score featuring a lovely rendition of the title song by Lee Remick. Wish she had done more musicals. She also does some good belting in "The Hallelujah Trail" (just out on Blu-ray and DVD) and in the concert performance of "Follies." Good stuff.

A 1981 adult drama that's worth a second look
A fine book is turned into a really wonderful film. Riveting performances by Robert De Niro, Robert Duvall, Kenneth McMillan and Burgess Meredith, fine direction by Ulu Grossbard ("Straight Time"), beautifully photographed by Owen Roizman ("The French Connection," "The Exorcist") and featuring a haunting score by the great Georges Delerue. It's a haunting film in the tradition of "Chinatown" and "Farewell My Lovely." Both the DVD and Blu-ray release due the film justice.

A wonderful and rarely seen French film. Well worth a purchase.
Another wonderful blu-ray from Criterion. Beautiful looking with some great extras.
