Good step up from a basic sharpener
Clear instructions and fairly easy to use. It cleaned up some damaged blades quite well (not as well as a professional knife grinder but way better than my worn, old single disc grinder). It's a good option for anyone who doesn't know how to use traditional steel sharpeners and I think it would be good to use the finest disc as a frequent sharpener to keep the edge. I'm not sure its designed for knives that have a "bolster" at the end of the blade. I found this prevented the knife from passing all the way through the blades (eg Wusthof forged knives), resulting in an uneven bit by the bolster.
