Hardy Boys mysteries
My 11 year old son and I love reading the Hardy Boys mysteries. They were all re-written in the 1950's to "modernize" them. What they did was dumb them down. We much prefer these re-issues of the original texts. The new versions are shorter, but they add twice the plot, making them convoluted and sometimes hard to keep up with so many characters. They also take away much of the charm. Do yourself a favor, and read the originals. They are easy to find on Ebay and they are FAR superior to the re-makes.
