I found plenty of good practical suggestions that I'm using already
I went searching for this little book after I'd heard the author speak. She is a very interesting presenter. Her book is a cute presentation in a 10 cm x 11 cm page with little busy bees scattered across the pages. it is is only one centimetre thick so it isnt a long read. The book is full of practical ideas for saving time. I flagged a number of them to implement myself and started straight away with a clean up and reorganisation of the paperwork in my office. I really identified with the suggestion that you put a dot in the corner of a piece of paperwork everytime you handle it. Lynne says when the piece of paper looks like an outbreak of measles it is time to find a more effective way of managing your paperwork. Guilty! Some ideas were horrifying to think that I should ever get so busy that I'd need to implement them. For example she suggests that when you put a clean liner in the kitchen bin you actually nest several liners to save time the next few occasions that you empty out the bin. Or the recommendation that you have a cordless phone so you can continu doing other things whilst you chat on the phone. She has some good suggestions for managing wardrobe clutter as well because as she comments physical clutter is a great time waster. For example Lynne says that every time you buy something new and add it to your wardrobe take something out and give it to charity. I have friends who live on a boat who follow this principal ruthlessly - for every new item brought on board something else must go. She includes some great quotes like the one from Hazel Hawke "Nothing is of any use if you don't know where it is when you want it" or Henry Kissinger "There can't be a crisis next week. My schedule is already full". This is an easy read with little pieces of, possibly unintentional, humour interspersed. Ideal for a busy person!
