Heirloom Quality....exquisite needle-art!
This item is even more beautiful than the picture! The floral cross stitch itself is beautiful, and with the cream-colored stitching around it, it is absolutely Exquisite! This would make a nice gift for someone who loves needlework! The fabric is very nice quality. This is bound to become someone's family Heirloom!

Pretty Charts-Just Cannot Read them
Very disappointed with this book, with the charts themselves in terms of how they were printed in this book. Very pretty designs, but very poor quality on the production of the charts. Cannot even read the main charts which are printed way too small (each on it's own individual page (entire chart on one page instead of broken down onto several pages in a larger print). Also, there are no symbols one per color-it looks like hand coloring using colored pencils, and it is nearly impossible to distinguish similar colors as for instance, all greens look the same, and so on. There are smaller projects that have larger printed charts, those can be personalized, but it's the larger charts that will be a chore to try to recreate it and assign a symbol per color (after determining the individual stitch lines and their colors by regraphing each stitch on a CS software so its legible). The book has nice content, but I think the main charts are unusable the way they are published...they just are not legible. The smaller charts are the same, but at least you can barely see the stitch lines on those so those are salvageable. I'm up to the challenge of trying to regraph this-as I really want several of these larger designs-but the poor quality charts may not be salvageable. Too bad as the designs themselves are very nice.
I wanted something small to do, where I would get quick results. This kit was fun to do, I completed it in an evening. It is a cute design. It comes with a nice, solid plastic black frame with the screw tightener. The only issue I had with this was the printed 'X's on the fabric was very light, very difficult to see, so I couldn't clearly tell where to stitch.
I wound up just stitching wherever I thought it would look good. My finished item does not have the flowers on it, but a different design. Also, on mine, I placed a few black little spots on it, and gave it it two little black dots for eyes, and that seems to give it some 'pop', as for me, the color was too monochrome--it needed something else.
It was still a fun project to do however, and it looks cute! It was a lesson learned in Stamped cross stitch...so I'm glad I started small.
