A Treat for Annette Fans, But NOT First Time to CD
Why Disney hasn't released an official version of "Annette at Bikini Beach" I will never know. It includes some of the best tracks from the beach picture series. In the meantime, this release is almost as good -- with clean mastering and well balanced sound. Same with the "Golden Surfin' Hits," which includes two tracks that were released as a single in mid 1965 that really should have put Annette back on the charts -- "No One Could be Prouder"/"Boy to Love." However, both albums HAVE been released previously on CD -- "Bikini Beach" on the Korean "Oldays" label (over a year ago) and "Surfin' Hits" by Disney in Japan back in the early 90's. A newsier pairing would have been "Annette's Pajama Party" and "Something Borrowed, Something Blue" -- neither or which have been released on CD to date.
