Fun, slick, sexy, and beautiful sound.
2 of 2 found this helpful The Poly Evolver is a truly amazing instrument capable of sweet analog or cutting digital sounds. The interface is a bit confusing, and the potentiometers somewhat difficult to work with. However, the sheer flexibility of the routings and modulation capabilities available more than makes up for it. The synth looks great, and feels well-made otherwise, although I'd still get a good hard case for it. The keyboard action is responsive, and the aftertouch adds a lot of expressiveness. The thing with the poly evolver, the big thing for me anyway, is that the combo mode is the easiest to use of any synth I've ever played or owned.
I give the Poly Evolver a solid 4.5/5. It's not your bread-and-butter, do it all analog synth like the Andromeda, nor is it your go-to for searing leads and phat bass like a Moog Voyager. The Evolver sits in a category of its own, one that's welcome in any production.
