An Economy Unit
Bought this from a guy in China I think. Price was reasonable, kit was good. It came with 4 stones which was nice, along with a carry case...but only for the stones and the marker. Would have been nice if Ruixin provided a case to hold all the parts of the actual sharpening platform.
It takes a bit to get used to when starting out. The angle is adjusted only by a rod that stops the table from pivoting any further. The base is sturdy, but you better secure it on a super smooth surface for the suction grip...I found you needed to keep re-suction the base to the counter too often which added much time, and left you feeling the base and platform were not secure.
The platform is the real dissapointment, it needs to be twice as wide and the blade rest is too thick for narrow knives preventing the stone from contacting the cutting edge at times. Especially when sharpening large kitchen knives, a wider platform is essential IMO. Since its so small, it's really difficult to replicate the angles throughout the length of the blade. I tried for hours and finally was able to get a good uniform cut on the edge but to do this on all your hardware is going to be very time consuming.
In summary its OK if you aren't too cocerned about a uniform edge, you can still sharpen a blade, but it'll take you forever, and good luck keeping it uniform. Narrow blades will be difficult with the chaep plastic rest the provide.
Ruixin could do better.

8 of 8 found this helpful Sound quality is excellent and the noise cancelling feature really adds to the enjoyment of whatever you are listening to. They are quite comfortable and lightweight. After shopping for headphones for a while I am super pleased with my choice, I found a great deal and paid $230 incl. shipping, which was much cheaper then what I could find in Canada. I highly recommend these headphones. I use them for travelling and working out, they are great at getting rid of outside noise. They fold up and come with a nice little travel case that hold the charging chord, adapter, and phone piece.
