Great at What it Does
This is a great product if you understand what it does and does not do. I am hoping Apple will add more functionality to it in the future.

Super mulching blades
When I read a review of super mulching blades which said that it left big clumps, I thought this could not be true. A super mulching blade should chop up the grass into finer particles which absorb more easily into the ground soil.
Well, it is true. Under wet conditions, the finer grass clippings result and fewer (but larger) clumps. This is because underwear condition the finer clippings stick to each other better. I like this result because when you are done, there are fewer clumps to break up, however, those clumps are larger.
Under dry conditions, there are no clumps. Either way, the smaller clippings mean they are absorbed into the soil faster.
Another consideration is because of the shape of the blades they are a little bit harder to sharpen after a lot of use.
Because we do a lot of mowing, and because we cannot control the conditions when we need to mow, we have decided to go back to the regular mulching blades instead of the super mulching blades. For the average homeowner mowing only their own lawn, the super mulching blades are probably a good option because you have better control over the conditions under which you need to mow.
The most important thing to keep in mind is, there is not a big difference between these blades and regular mulching blades. As different as they look, if you’re not using them all the time you probably won’t notice the difference. There’s not really a bad decision one way or the other.
