Antiquax Silver Solutions
Two-bottle kit of re-plating solutions, one primary and a back-up, refurbishing liquid. To be honest I didn't find much difference between the two, because both did a reasonable job.
Instructions are a bit 'ambiguous' giving the impression that you need to polish off almost immediately, but I found leaving the pale brown 'Brasso-coloured' liquid to dry and then polishing resulted in a really superb and shiny silver finish.
Cheaper by a mile than sending items off for re-plating, it's an excellent and affordable compromise - though probably best for renovating small areas.

POLISHED POLISH
Don't really know how - it doesn't look much different to other metal polishes - but this polish does the best job of anything on the market, and without any significant graft and elbow grease either.
Quite simply, superb.

Damned boring business
Don't know what's happened to Gerald Seymour. I've read and re-read everything from Harry's Game to this one and doubt I'll bother with his latest. I'm simply more and more perplexed and disappointed.
The man's writing has become convoluted and quite frankly boring, poorly edited and structured with interminable seas of unbroken text, sometimes whole pages without a para break and chapters the length of some short stories.
I'm struggling to finish this one and probably won't buy another. Instead I'll re-read his best and remember what a brilliant, thrilling and fascinating writer he used to be.
