"Eagle of the Ninth" fans will be disappointed.
The only redeeming virtues of "The Eagle" are that some of it was filmed on location and that great attention was paid to detail. Other than that, I think fans of Rosemary Sutcliff will be disappointed with the screenplays almost complete departure from the original story. Granted, the original was not written as a screenplay and it would have been difficult to cover it's grand scope. Still, the film does not form a coherent story but rather a collection of disconnected vignette's. The original "The Eagle of the Ninth" by Rosemary Sutcliff explains how a British slave becomes the devoted friend of his Roman master, and how they together travel into Caledonia disguised as a Greek Oculist and his slave. These are plausible scenarios. In the movie it is unimaginable that the two could like one another and somehow force their way into enemy territory just by pure bravado. The "how" just isn't explained. My advice: Read the book, "The Eagle of the Ninth", skip the movie.

Magpul 700L Stock
This looks great and was easy to install. Seems heavier than I expected but I haven’t actually weighed it. Haven’t fired it with the new stock either.

Magpul Magazine for Remington 700
I needed this to install a Magpul stock, which I found used on EBay. A lot of the reviews mention that longer screws will be needed. This was not the case in this instance, at least, as the original screws were just fine. Very pleased with the result.
