Dolica Tripods -- Good Enough
Let's be honest, at $35, it's a cheap tripod. It's not as rock solid stable as tripods costing 10x or 20x as much. If I were a professional photographer whose livelihood depend on it, I'd go for rock solid. But there are times when "Perfect is the enemy of Good Enough".
My reason for buying the tripod -- I often shoot with a friend who lives halfway across the country. Taking my better tripod is both a schlep and expensive if I need to pay for an extra piece of luggage. If we're going to shoot for a day or two in a national park, maybe one night shoot, the Dolica certianly is "Good Enough". My first tripod was a Dolica, so I was familiar with the brand, and the Quality. So I bought this tripod to keep at his place and to have available should the need arise.
