A piece of film history: Hitchcock and Laughton
The sound sometimes varies as it's a 1939 movie but it's worth persevering

Good story idea which was executed not as well as it might have been and jumped around a little too much
It's OK if you're interested in the early Newton finding his feet in film acting, literally because he doesn't always seem to know what to do with his long legs or where the camera is. A lot of the film is dark and the scene where police are looking for him in Hyde Park at night is all but indescipherable as they are all in dark clothes in the dark. His final scenes where he becomes an action man foretell his later concentration on character parts rather than romantic leading man roles which I think he disliked and wasn't as good in. His leading lady was fine, what we see of her.
