Deep Purple Burn
Deep Purple mark 3 at its very best, it was the shoot in the arm the band needed after 'who do we think we are'. David Coverdale and Glen Hughes are on fire on this album and Blackmore never sounded so focused again in his career. The title song is still played to this day by Mr Coverdale (whitesnake) and the last carnation of Rainbow also opened up the show with this song. You fool no one is one of the best cream type loose tight numbers that deep purple ever recorded and what can i say about mistreated it has to be one of the best blues numbers that blackmore ever wrote up there with Free's Mr Big and zeppelins i cant quite you babe.

D Coverdale two solo albums
what i like about the two solo albums between davids two mega bands ( deep purple & whitesnake) is the honesty of the music. All of the songs have either a fun factor about them or a trying to push his style alittle a way from just hard R & B and hair metal. Between 1973 & 1982 coverdales voice had the same qualities as paul rodgers has, just this side of that fantastic brown blues soul sound, but over the years davids voice has growen thin and week. At one time it had a feel of real class. If you are looking for metal keep away from these two albums if you want class check them out, fantastic (think frankie miller)

perfect
after the first album being very cream ( in a good way) influenced ( crossroads was the encore of the day) the second album free is a lot more layed back with a dylan, band influence but rodgers singing on things like woman and kossoffs wah wah on ill be creppin are perfect, a glass of wine and a warm summer evening put this cd on,and you will just smile at the perfect combination
