Balancing Act

This useful adapter from Selby gets the balance right: that is the value balance between quality, price and performance. In terms of performance, it gets a signal from a MacBook Air to an HDMI cable to a Sony Bravia in a most satisfactory manner. In terms of price this is a very accessible adapter, compare with other branded products at $50. In terms of quality, it is solidly made, again compare with other branded products. I suspect this will last as long as the $50 item but if not, I can buy four more before I start to be on the wrong end of the equation.

Value and quality

I use a fair bit of A4 and A3 photo paper through my Epson photo printer using Epson Claria inks. I have not tried Hartwii before but initial test prints are very encouraging. At 260gsm the paper is heavier than the Canon or Epson papers I regularly use. Of course, I cannot comment on permanence but I am very happy with colour prints overall. I have not tried monochrome printing yet but I expect to be pleased.
