One of his finest
Okay, we all know that Steven Seagal can’t act. But he can kick butt, right? His recent films have been extremely poor, where he looks bored and can’t be bothered to fight (hence using stand-ins), and you think “why?” However, there was a time when he did make some very good action films and this falls into that category. I would rate this as one of his more violent films, with a tremendous amount of people getting shot, arms broken, heads smashed in, etc. Watch out for a fight scene with Dan Inosanto (Bruce Lee’s friend/pupil). Forget the plotline, because it’s the same as with a lot of his films – he’s out for revenge for the killing of someone close to him – and just sit back and enjoy the action. As with all his films, the region 2 version has been censored (cuts made to some of the more violent fighting scenes).

The film? Rubbish. The DVD extras? Excellent
Oh dear! The film that should have paid homage to the great man turns out to be an absolute turkey! This was to be Bruce Lee’s fourth film. He had already filmed a number of the fight scenes when ‘production’ was put on hold because he was called upon to do “Enter the Dragon”. He died shortly after completing “Enter the Dragon” and so never got the opportunity to go back and finish his work. Some years after he died, this film was put together and billed as “Bruce Lee’s final film”. Ironically, not only did the producers totally ignore Lee’s original storyline/concept, but chose to insert just a few minutes of actual Bruce Lee footage – despite having some 30/40 minutes of footage available to use. Worse still, they used a look-alike (who actually looked nothing like him!)and inserted scenes from his other films (such as Way of the Dragon)to make it look as though Bruce was on screen throughout the film. The result was/is a total mishmash of a film. Poor storyline, appalling editing, etc. It deserves no more to be called a Bruce Lee film than any of the countless other films that jumped on the bandwagon at the time. So, the rating for the film itself is "below average". However,... There is bonus material(in the 2-disc version) that is "excellent". It does actually contain almost all the (known) surviving footage of Bruce Lee at the time. Re-edited to show the film (or at least the legendary pagoda scene)how Bruce had originally intended, it shows just what could have been. Watch the film, then watch the bonus footage and decide for yourself.

No longevity whatsoever!
Nothing wrong with the smell, which is great, but this just does not last. 30 minutes top and you can no longer smell it.
