KINGSLEY FERDINANDS THE LONGEST THOUGHT - SHOULD I, OR SHOULDN'T I?
Sometimes it all goes pear shaped. Sometimes you think you can put 100 of the world's best actors together and miraculously they will pull of a great Oscar award winning movie. The Longest Day has far too many errors and mistakes and this is the reason and the movie that got me interested in film making, screen writing and studio work across arts and entertainment. The first few seconds says it all: (1) the sudden disappearing act of Field Marshal Rommel on the beaches in the intro, (2) the turning of the wrong way when the Filed Marshal hands a piece of paper to his adjutant and (3) the daddy of them all, the shadow of the camera crew running up the beach with Robert Mitcham. It took me a while before I realized what the shadow was. Then I said this is not right. I started writing two movies about World Wat II in Europe. The first was Panzer Army, and the second was Army of the Panzers. The I wanted to do a trilogy and started writing the first screenplay in the trilogy called Stukas over Paris. I don't need a hundred world class actors rathe what I need is 120 minutes of your time. KINGSLEY FERDINANDS FILM GROUP loves The Longest day but for so many different reasons. (The Baron, Steve Forrest makes an appearance).
