Works As Intended
I found it somewhat ridiculous that cable companies require you to get a box, yet they don't supply the IR remote. I'll assume they figure we're all idiots and like having that wart out for all to see!
Anyway, my very clean install is now complete without that wart of a cable box and no wires in view. Just a very inconspicuous black "dot" on the bottom edge of the console top.

Very low quality
It's plastic! I get it; but it certainly could have been presented a lot better. All the mold seams had excess plastic- they were not cleaned/cut off. The socket cap that screws on to the back- the bayonet reliefs were not tight, the cap had no rubber seal on the inside mating area (I pulled the old seals out of the old caps and used them- not an exact fit), the nubs that go into the bayonet reliefs were basically a joke- there was barely enough there to make contact.
The ground post on the fixture was abit smaller than the connector on the wire- had to give them a little squeeze with needlenose for a good fit/contact.
One fixture had a pivot post that was abit short- moving the fixture around iI could make it pop out- had to do some creative shimming to get a solid lock in position.
Washed the car two days later and one fixture was all fogged up on the interior.
To say this is an "inferior" part(s) would be an understatement!

Works as intended- Used in a non-designed manner
I purchased this unit because it met the criteria I was looking for- thin, not too wide, and retractable.
I was building a custom console for a vehicle that had an armrest, and I wanted a drink holder for the rear passenger seats to reside inside the armrest- somewhat similar to the original setup.
It worked exactly as I designed too. And I'm sure it would work as it was originally designed also.
