GRADO PRESTIGE BLUE2 P-MOUNT PHONO CARTRIDGE - NEW-IN-BOX

Dissapointment from Grado!

This cartridge is far from good or even acceptable and I can not understand all the fuzz and overexcited reviews which I've read about it. Its sound is quite dull and colored, very weak high frequencies and lack of clarity and artificially boosted lows (unnecessary!) It's probably a desperate attempt for cutting the frequencies in which one can hear most of the "annoying defects" but if that is the case it is really not the way a phono-cartridge designer should choose to go! My Old Audio Technica AT90 which I bought for $40 sounds way better than this thing and the only reason I wanted to upgrade from it was the fact that it is a basic conical stylus vs this one which is elliptical. As for design and packaging - ridiculous! I could not believe in what careless way Grado had this thing wrapped up, just a plane plastic box with the cartridge literally stuffed in it with the instruction/information papers wrapped around it like a packaging paper! They didn't even bother making a descent stylus guard, the one it has is so difficult to remove or put back that it can easily damage the needle while doing it! Overall I was really expecting far more superior quality for this price tag of $125.
