Another quality product from Pat Metheney
If you like Pat Metheny then all of his output, rather like Brad Mehldau, is very consistent and he is clearly an exceptional cratsman

A useful ACW background to supplement the basic rules
I had read reviews that suggested that this was a glossy book with not a lot of content for the money, so I had delayed purchasing. Having used several other rule sets all of which their proponents claim offer more period flavour etc I have returned to my adapted version of Black Powder basic mechanism remains but I exclude the things I hate like blunders and moving half way across the table without any intervention, and sought some ideas for special rules to add in that period flavour. On that basis I am more than happy that the book provides plenty of good ideas. I especially like the profiles for the named units compared to the generic profiles which provides some very good ideas of how to stop all units becoming too generic. So I would recommend it even if like me you have several alternate rule books, and library of background books and it is not that outrageously priced in today's market
