Gangrene and Glory
2 of 2 found this helpful Informative and scholarly summary of the state of medicine during this time. I liked the detail on diseases as well as the entire health care organization. The gunshot descriptions were good as well as the care from a regular soldier's perspective. I learned a lot in a short amount of time as the book was straightforward. I am putting together a medical skit for a Civil War workshop at our school. This book was invaluable. The one drawback that I found was that some of the medical biographies were a bit lengthy.

Good value for the price. Only one side is completely formed as the other is flat. Still makes a good impression!
