READ THE INSTRUCTIONS
As others stated, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. This product is made for many applications and for my misfire 3/8 dovetail I needed to remove the large "stretching screws" and move the longer smaller screws to enter through the hole the larger screws were in. Make sure the top anti- slide screws are backed out for clearance on top of the firearm. Tighten the long screws evenly the tighten the top rail screws and it sill work very well.

When opening this item I thought it was rather small. Tried it out and the power was simply amazing and I love the on/off feature. Using this to replace my retractable magnet for separating stainless steel(with a tiny amount of steel added to make it magnetic) from my brass when washing in a tumbler. The on/off is so much better than the retractable magnet as it tended to pull the tiny media along the outside of the tube--even after adding a large rubber "O" ring to curtail it from happening. Happy-happy.
